About

Bio

Amanda Stumpf was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1994 and lived there until she started college. She moved to Kent, Ohio to attend school at Kent State University to study Jewelry/Metalworking and Art History. She has even had the opportunity to go to Italy twice with Kent State University’s art history program to truly learn and appreciate art from a historical standpoint.

Stumpf has been exhibiting work primarily in the Kent and Akron area for the past few years. She has shown in group exhibits and juried shows like Stratosphere, Fear, and Vibrance which were all held by the university. She has a piece on display in Akron at the GAR show that will be exhibited until November of 2016. Amanda had a brooch accepted into exhibit all the way at Louisiana State University for a show.  Amanda Stumpf was also asked to display some of her work for the school’s NASDA review since the department felt her work represented what the program teaches so well. She also earned a scholarship for her portfolio and work based on its excellence.

Amanda Stumpf has just finished working on her BFA solo exhibition, which focused on mechanical processes verses nature. She has just received her Bachelors of Fine Arts, and is taking a break period to look for graduate schools while continuing to make work.
